Burley in Wharfedale businesses

WELCOME to the website of BADCOT (Burley & District Chamber of Trade), a thriving voluntary organisation of nearly 60 members from commerce and communities in West Yorkshire’s Burley-in-Wharfedale, Menston and surrounding areas.

Established in 2002, we work closely with councils, MPs, the police and local organisations to make sure this area remains a great place to visit, live and do business in.

Our many achievements include the securing of thousands of pounds of compensation for businesses affected by Yorkshire Water's closure of Burley Main Street and major discounts on advertising in the local press and the Burley Handbook.

One of our most successful initiatives has been the increasingly popular Burley Christmas Market - which welcomed 2,000 visitors last year - and we also played a big part in the third Burley Summer Festival, another huge success.

We are also an affiliate member of the Ilkley Business Forum - meaning most of its excellent workshops and seminar events are free to our members.

BADCOT is keen on networking and holds at least three general dinner-meetings a year, as well as supporting other events.

We look forward to working together to tackle the tough economic challenges we face. Let's get down to business!
